Johannesburg-Dubai is among the 10 busiest routes in Africa
The route between Johannesburg and Dubai has been identified as one of the busiest in Africa. This became known from the Official Airline Guide (OAG) report, which determines the rating of airline routes for the first month of 2024.
Statistics show that the number of tickets booked with the airline in January this year on the Johannesburg-Dubai routes was able to approach the demand for the Cairo-Doha and Paris-Saint-Denis routes. This is reported in The South African.
Thus, according to OAG, in January, the Johannesburg-Dubai route became the 10th busiest and had 85,014 tickets sold. In turn, the flight from Cairo to Doha had 94 566 seats, and from Paris and Saint-Denis - 95 146 seats.
"The world's busiest air routes are defined as those with the highest volume of scheduled air traffic in the current calendar month. The data covers both round-trip flights on each route and is obtained from the OAG Schedules Analyzer for the first week of each month. The flight data reflects the last full calendar month for the busiest scheduled domestic and international routes in each category," the Official Airline Guide report said.
