Lancashire Bus Firm Rosso Expands Evening Services, Benefiting Travelers
Lancashire’s bus operator, Rosso, is enhancing its evening services on the Irwell Line 481 and 483 routes, providing more options for travelers. Starting from July 21, the revised schedule will include later journeys between Blackburn, Rawtenstall, and Burnley, in collaboration with Lancashire County Council.
Travelers on the Irwell Line 481 can now catch new evening buses from Blackburn to Rawtenstall at 7:47 PM, 9:17 PM, and 10:47 PM, with additional trips at 8:36 PM and 10:06 PM. A late-night journey to Haslingden will be available at 11:36 PM. Similarly, the Irwell Line 483 will offer extra services from Burnley to Rawtenstall at 7:47 PM, 9:17 PM, and 10:47 PM, and from Rawtenstall to Burnley at 8:38 PM, 9:38 PM, and 11:08 PM. On weekdays, trips after 7 PM will follow the Sunday route via Newchurch Road.
For travelers, this means easier and more flexible evening trips across East Lancashire. The introduction of these later journeys is part of Lancashire’s £8.5 million Bus Service Improvement Plan, which also includes a special fare of just £1 for any trip after 7 PM, making travel more affordable.
These changes are not only a boon for locals but also for tourists exploring East Lancashire’s attractions. Whether you’re heading to a late dinner in Rawtenstall or catching an evening event in Burnley, the extended bus services make it more convenient to enjoy the region’s offerings without worrying about transport.
Rosso, part of the Transdev family, has a long history of serving the Lancashire area, dating back to 1907. The company operates various routes connecting Rossendale, Bury, Blackburn, and Burnley, making it a vital part of the local transportation network.
