Looking for an affordable getaway? The best travel booking sites have been named
When booking a vacation, we all want to find the best deal with the cheapest airfare and the best value for accommodation.
However, using a booking site like Expedia can lead you to spend more than necessary. These findings stem from a study conducted by Which? writes Metro.
The platform surveyed its members regarding their experiences with comparison sites (which search for the best prices online) and booking sites (which allow travelers to search for airfare and accommodation and book on one platform), resulting in two ratings.
While online travel agents often offer the cheapest basic fare, the final price usually escalates significantly after adding extras like baggage or seat selection, making it more expensive than booking directly with the airline.
Another advantage of booking directly is that you'll know who is responsible when something goes wrong.
Google Flights was the best-performing site when it came to customer service, with a score of 64%, but it only managed to find the cheapest flights in six out of 30 cases.
