Lufthansa Launches New Route to Santa Claus' Hometown
This winter, Lufthansa is offering a special treat for travelers eager to visit Santa Claus in his "official" hometown. Starting from November 30, 2024, the airline will fly twice weekly from Frankfurt to Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland in northern Finland. This new route, available every Tuesday and Saturday, promises to provide a magical winter experience in a city known for its proximity to the Arctic Circle and natural wonders like the Northern Lights.
The launch of this route marks Lufthansa's first direct flights to Rovaniemi, enhancing its network in Finland, which already includes destinations like Helsinki, Oulu, Kittilä, Ivalo, and Kuusamo. This expansion underscores Lufthansa's commitment to providing diverse travel options for its passengers.
Additionally, Lufthansa is continuing to offer winter flights from Frankfurt to Chișinău, the capital of the Republic of Moldova, and from Munich to Nantes, France. These routes, introduced in the summer of 2024, will now extend into the colder months, ensuring consistent connectivity for travelers.
These new routes can be booked immediately through all standard Lufthansa booking channels. With the addition of Rovaniemi, Lufthansa continues to expand its reach, offering travelers exciting new destinations to explore during the winter season. The direct flights from Frankfurt to Rovaniemi are expected to be popular among those looking to experience the enchanting winter landscapes and festive atmosphere of Lapland.
