Luxury Disney Cruise Ship Rescues Four People from a Drowning Catamaran Near Bermuda
A recent event at sea showcased a well-executed rescue mission led by the crew of the Disney Treasure cruise ship. Four individuals aboard a catamaran named Serenity encountered a critical situation when their vessel began quickly filling with water. Located roughly 230 nautical miles from the shores of Bermuda, the passengers promptly sent out a distress alert, which was immediately picked up by the U.S. Coast Guard.
The people aboard Serenity, which included an older couple, their daughter, and a cousin, found themselves in an emergency due to a failed seal in the escape hatch. Unable to hold back the water, the catamaran started to sink. Fortunately, the Disney Treasure cruise ship, on its way to its new base in Port Canaveral, was in the vicinity and able to respond without delay.
