Manchester Airport prepares to welcome passengers before Easter: what are the rules for liquids in hand luggage
Many families will be flying abroad for vacation during the Easter break. While getting away can be exciting, flying can be a stressful experience because of the rules and regulations you have to follow.
Remembering your important documents, making sure your luggage is not too heavy, and having enough time to get to the airport are all things you need to consider when you fly. Knowing what you can take with you in your carry-on baggage is another important factor when it comes to smooth airport security, the Manchester Evening News reports.
New security scanners are being installed at UK airports that will lift the 100 ml limit on liquids in hand luggage. The government has set a nominal deadline of June 1 for major airports to implement the new system, which will eliminate the need for passengers to remove toiletries and laptops from their carry-on luggage. However, Manchester Airport will not meet the June 2024 deadline, although several scanners have already been installed.
Hand luggage liquid restrictions at Manchester Airport
- Liquids must be 100 ml or less and be in a clearly labeled container
- Liquids must be placed in a transparent plastic bag no larger than 20 cm x 20 cm
- Liquids include water, pastes, creams, oils, perfumes, makeup, sprays, inhalants, gels, contents of pressurized containers, liquid-solid mixtures, and any other items of similar consistency.
- Liquids do not include lipstick, lip balm, and deodorant sticks.
As TravelWise reported, Manchester Airport has announced a new direct route to the Moroccan coastal city of Casablanca. Royal Air Morocco will operate flights three times a week.
