Marriott International and HMI Hotel Group Forge Multi-Property Conversion Deal in Japan
Marriott International and HMI Hotel Group have recently announced a substantial agreement aimed at rebranding seven existing HMI properties in Japan. This initiative will see these properties transformed into Marriott Hotels and Courtyard by Marriott, marking a significant development in Japan's hospitality sector.
The rebranding effort, spanning across five major cities in Japan, reflects a strategic move by HMI Hotel Group to align its properties with global hospitality standards and cater to the evolving preferences of consumers in the region.
Both Marriott International and HMI Hotel Group expressed optimism about the collaboration, highlighting its potential to enhance guest experiences and unlock growth opportunities in key Japanese markets. The conversion will leverage Marriott International's extensive global portfolio of over 8,800 properties across 30 leading brands, along with its award-winning travel program, Marriott Bonvoy, boasting a global membership base of over 200 million.
President Rajeev Menon of Marriott International's Asia Pacific division excluding China emphasized the strategic significance of the conversion, stating it aligns with the company's commitment to robust global growth through strategic affiliations.
