A passenger, Vahe, found himself at the center of a scandal following an in-flight incident that led to a $29,000 fine. In an interview with ABC News Live, Vahe and his attorney, Sara Azari, shared details of the incident and disputed the accusations from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The incident began when Vahe was sleeping in an aisle seat, and his knee was accidentally hit by a flight attendant's cart. Waking up in pain, Vahe reflexively swung his arm, barely touching the flight attendant. Later, the flight attendant approached Vahe and threatened to call the police if he "touched him again." Vahe was shocked and angered by this response, believing he deserved an apology for the injury.

The FAA claims that Vahe seriously assaulted the flight attendant, rendering him unable to work for an extended period. Consequently, Vahe was fined $29,000. However, Azari argues that multiple witnesses corroborate Vahe's version of events and refute the flight attendant's claims. After an investigation, the FBI found no grounds for criminal charges against Vahe, casting doubt on the FAA's accusations.

This incident highlights the importance of being cautious in interactions with airline staff. Even minimal contact can be misinterpreted as aggression and lead to severe consequences. Sara Azari advises passengers to document incidents to provide evidence in case of disputes, given the potential lack of transparency from airlines.

The public reaction to this case has been varied and emotional. Many social media users expressed confusion and outrage over the fact that such incidents could lead to severe consequences for passengers. Commenters noted that the situation with air travel is becoming increasingly tense, with some suggesting the introduction of mandatory body cameras for both passengers and flight attendants to prevent similar conflicts in the future. Overall, the public is concerned about the fairness and transparency of investigating in-flight incidents.

Vahe hopes to clear his name and hold the flight attendant accountable for the harm caused to him. This case underscores the need for more transparent and fair procedures in investigating in-flight incidents.
