Passerby reports human bones found near Birmingham airport to police
The gruesome discovery of human bones near Birmingham Airport has shaken the local community. The police have launched an investigation to identify the deceased and the circumstances of the tragedy.
The remains, which belonged to an adult, were discovered on the ground off Digby Drive, Marston Green, on Saturday at around 17:30. The gruesome discovery was reported by a passerby, the Independent reports.
The West Midlands Police Department in Solihull has launched an investigation. According to police, it will include special forensic examinations that will take some time.
A witness, who did not want to be named, said: "This is a big shock. Things like this don't happen in Marston Green, it's always been a nice neighborhood. The path where the bones were found is very popular in the summer, this morning we were wondering why the police were here."
It is worth noting that Digby Drive, the place where the bones were found, is a residential street located just 10 minutes from the airport.
Other human remains were found nearby in 2020. It happened near the Jaguar Land Rover plant.
