Poland will experience tourism boom in 2023: who is travelling to the country's resorts
The Polish tourist market is experiencing an unprecedented boom in 2023. Data from visits to airports in the country show that local beaches on the Baltic Sea are most favoured by Germans, Ukrainians, Belarusians and US citizens.
At the same time, according to ShengenVisaInfo, the number of Czech tourists increased significantly in the summer of 2023, which was not the case in previous years. Statistics from travel agencies and local authorities show that Czech citizens are flocking to Polish resorts in droves. Czech travel agencies claim a 100% increase in applications for holidays in Poland.
Representatives of travel companies explain this "phenomenon" by the Czechs' interest in historical monuments, their love for the nature of the neighboring country, where there is both sea and mountains and, most importantly, affordable prices.
Thus, as of July 2023, a week's stay in Poland for a "budget" tourist costs 200-220 euros. More expensive holiday options cost 350-750 euros. The cost of accommodation in hotels or rented flats is 35-40 euros per night.
According to tour operators, it is much cheaper than in the Czech Republic and Croatia, where prices have increased due to inflation and the transition to the euro.
Note: in 2023, Poland's busiest airport Chopin Airport recorded 6.5 million passengers, 63% of which came from the Schengen area and 37% from non-EU countries.
