In a bid to enhance its cruise offerings in French Polynesia, PONANT announces exciting plans for 2026. The renowned cruise line will introduce two distinct propositions, catering to diverse travel preferences. Le Jacques Cartier will make its mark from September 2026 to March 2027, navigating the stunning Polynesian and Pacific archipelagos, promising an unparalleled expedition experience.

Designed to navigate the South Pacific archipelagos, the m/s Paul Gauguin boasts a unique advantage with its reduced draft, enabling access to shallow lagoons and remote islands. Following extensive refurbishments in 2021, the vessel exudes an authentic French Polynesian atmosphere, accentuated by the hospitality of Les Gauguines and Les Gauguins, who serve as cultural ambassadors both onboard and ashore.

From winter 2026, Le Jacques Cartier will introduce a novel experience centered around nature exploration. The innovative Blue Eye Lounge offers guests an immersive underwater experience, allowing them to marvel at the biodiversity of Polynesian lagoons. Expert naturalist guides will accompany guests, providing insights into the region's rich fauna and flora during sailing and zodiac landings. Additionally, a curated lineup of themed activities will showcase the diverse history and cultures of the visited archipelagos, ensuring a memorable journey for travelers.

Hervé Gastinel, the CEO of the PONANT group, shares insights into the company's vision, stating, "French Polynesia holds a special place in the hearts of our guests. We aim to offer them an array of itineraries and experiences that align with our brand identity." Emphasizing PONANT's commitment to sustainability and quality service, Gastinel highlights the significance of small French-flagged ships in preserving the integrity of visited territories.

With its modular marina and semi-submerged platform, Le Jacques Cartier provides seamless access to water activities, including kayaking and paddleboarding, in picturesque surroundings.
