Portugal launches a single ticket for regional trains: how it works
The National Rail Pass, a national railway travel card, is coming into effect in Portugal.
This document allows you to travel on regional trains for a monthly fee of 49 euros. To apply for it, you need to have a CP customer card, which can be obtained at railway ticket offices by presenting an identity document, a photo and a completed questionnaire, ECO writes.
With such a pass, you can ride regional trains without a limit on any route.
At the same time, it is not valid on Alfa Pendular, InterRegional, Intercidades, Internacional and Urban trains in Porto, Lisbon and Coimbra. The excluded sections also include the routes Régua - Pocinho, Coimbra - Figueira da Foz, Pinhal Novo - Evora, Pinhal Novo - Vila Nova da Baronia, Pinhal Novo - Tunes.
