Princess Cruises and Fincantieri are changing the delivery date of the Star Princess
Princess Cruises and Fincantieri jointly announced the decision to postpone the delivery of the future Sphere-class ship, the Star Princess. After careful evaluation of the remaining construction phases, both parties agreed to push the ship's delivery date from July 29, 2025, to September 26, 2025. As a result, nine inaugural voyages will be canceled.
The rescheduled inaugural voyages of the Star Princess will depart from Barcelona, including an 11-day Mediterranean itinerary on October 4, 2025, and a 7-day Mediterranean journey on October 15, 2025. The ship will then set sail for a 14-day transatlantic crossing to Fort Lauderdale on October 22, 2025, marking the beginning of its first season in the Caribbean basin.
Guests affected by the schedule changes will have three options: reschedule any Princess cruise worldwide, including onboard the Star Princess or sister ship San Princess, receive future cruise and onboard credits depending on their choice, or opt for a full refund of the cruise fare. Princess Cruises guarantees the preservation of commissions for travel agents on all fully paid bookings.
The Star Princess is the second ship in the Sphere class for Princess. The sister ship, the San Princess, built by Fincantieri in Monfalcone, debuted in February and is recognized as the next level of Love Boat, with iconic and elegant design lines typical of Princess, as well as new exciting architectural spectacles, such as The Dome, the cruise industry's first geodesic element on the upper deck, and The Sphere, a suspended glass sphere square at the center of the cruise ship.
Princess Cruises is the Love Boat, the world's largest cruise brand, providing vacations to millions of guests annually in the most popular destinations on the largest ships, offering elite service and the simplicity typical of small yacht-class ships.
