Pristine beaches in India to visit during your next vacation
When you think of Indian beaches, Baga in Goa or Kovalam in Kerala may immediately come to mind.
However, there are also other magical and unspoiled shores, perfect for those seeking solitude. Safe and tranquil, these hidden gems offer an escape from the mundane and bright tourist beaches. News Bytes has discovered four charming, off-the-beaten-track coasts in India that invite you to enjoy the beauty of unspoiled landscapes.
Ottinene Beach, Karnataka
This is one of the most photographed secluded beaches in coastal Karnataka, located between Bindura and Bhatkal.
To catch a glimpse of its rare and impressive coastline surrounded by lush greenery, visitors need to descend the steps of the hill near the Someshwar temple.
In addition, this beach offers a treat for the eyes: an estuary where the Suman River gracefully flows into the Arabian Sea.
Minicoy Island, Lakshadweep
The southernmost and last Indian island in the Lakshadweep archipelago is Minicoy Island. The picturesque island is locally called Maliku.
The unspoiled coastline together with the clear blue waters of the Arabian Sea make Minicoy a dream island.
You can also enjoy panoramic views of the extensive coastline from the Minikoy lighthouse.
Kizhunna and Ezhara beaches, Kannur
The twin beaches of Kizhunna and Ezhara are together called Kizhunna Ezhara. The magnificent crimson beach is located about 12 kilometres from the city of Kannur in Kerala .
The interesting sights of this stunning rocky coast are the shallow natural bays that are convenient for swimming.
The coast is interspersed with a ridge of tall coconut palms. Few locals visit these twin coasts, and they are hardly touched by foreign tourists.
Henry Island, West Bengal
This deltaic island is about a 15-minute drive from Bakkhali in the southern 24 parganas of West Bengal.
The large strip of white sand on this pristine beach, dotted with rocks in places, contrasts beautifully with the crystal clear blue water.
The coastline overlooks dense mangrove forests and is home to millions of red crabs. The serenity of this place will amaze and enchant you. Henry Island is located about 130 kilometres from Kolkata.
