Qatar Airways Resumes Flights to Lisbon, Expanding European Network
Qatar Airways has announced the resumption of its year-round direct flights between Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha and Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) in Lisbon. Starting in the summer of 2024, the airline will operate six weekly flights to the Portuguese capital.
This new route enhances travel options for passengers by offering seamless connectivity to over 170 destinations worldwide, including 47 within Europe. The addition of Lisbon to Qatar Airways’ network underscores the airline’s commitment to making international travel more accessible and convenient.
Mr. Thierry Antinori, Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, expressed excitement about the resumption, highlighting the airline’s ongoing expansion in Europe. He noted that reintroducing Lisbon reaffirms their dedication to connecting people and places globally.
Lisbon, known for its scenic beaches, vibrant cities, and numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites, is an attractive destination for travelers. The resumed flights provide a new gateway for international travelers from Europe to the Middle East, Africa, and the Indian subcontinent.
This strategic move by Qatar Airways not only expands its reach in Europe but also offers more travel choices for passengers, linking them to popular destinations such as Bali, Bangkok, Delhi, Denpasar, Kathmandu, and Male.
