Riyadh Air and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create a new partnership aimed at enhancing passenger benefits. The agreement, inked by Riyadh Air CEO Mr. Tony Douglas and Singapore Airlines CEO Mr. Goh Choon Phong during the 80th International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting in Dubai on June 2, 2024, promises significant improvements for travelers.

The MoU will allow the airlines to explore interline connectivity and potential commercial collaborations, including codeshare arrangements and reciprocal benefits for frequent flyer program members. This partnership aims to provide enhanced travel options, improved connectivity, and better customer experience, making travel more seamless and rewarding for passengers.

Riyadh Air passengers will gain access to Singapore Airlines’ extensive network in Southeast Asia and the South West Pacific, while Singapore Airlines customers will enjoy greater connectivity to the Middle East through Riyadh Air. Riyadh Air, based in Saudi Arabia, is set to commence operations in 2025, offering new travel opportunities in the region.

Mr. Tony Douglas highlighted that the strategic partnership with Singapore Airlines unlocks significant benefits for Riyadh Air’s future guests, enhancing connectivity with key regions such as Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand via Singapore Changi Airport. This relationship will also provide opportunities for passengers traveling westbound to connect across Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

Mr. Goh Choon Phong added that the partnership will offer more travel options, improved connectivity, and greater benefits for customers. He emphasized that the MoU supports both tourism and business travel between Saudi Arabia and Singapore, enhancing the overall travel experience.

This strategic partnership marks the beginning of a deep cooperation focused initially on a wide-ranging codeshare agreement, with plans to expand into technology, loyalty programs, and cargo operations. The collaboration is set to bring greater benefits to both airlines and their passengers, making travel more convenient and enjoyable.
