Russians are massively removed from Turkish Airlines flights from Istanbul to Argentina
According to passengers, the problems began in early March. At least 10 Russians were removed from the Istanbul-Buenos Aires flight without explanation, and their tickets were not refunded.
According to SHOT, one of the passengers said that she and her husband were removed from the flight just before boarding, after which they tried for a long time to find out why, and eventually the airport referred to some "additional checks". The passenger claims that the tickets were purchased in accordance with all the rules and the conditions of transportation were met but the airline representatives, upon seeing the Russian passports, refused to allow them to depart.
Another couple with two children was also removed from the flight just before boarding. The passengers were first told that there were some problems on the Argentine side, then given another reason that return tickets could not be purchased separately but should be bought together with the "to" tickets. Other Russians reported that they were denied a flight because they had no luggage, and Turkish Airlines representatives later referred to the fact that Argentina allegedly does not allow tourists.
Earlier, TravelWise reported that Latvia has extended entry restrictions for Russian citizens.
