An abandoned eastern resort hotel on Hachijima Island was one of the largest hotels in Japan before it was abandoned.
The grandiose Hachijo Royal Hotel is slowly falling apart. The last time it received tourists was 17 years ago, after which its doors closed forever. Interestingly, some rooms have remained in almost perfect condition, The Sun reports.
The luxury hotel, which opened in 1963 but was abandoned more than 15 years ago, still attracts guests from all over the world with its grandiose royal appearance.
This luxurious accommodation still has an ornate fountain decorated with plaster statues that are now rotting in the damp. The grand staircase leading up to the hotel is now overgrown with weeds and shrubs, making it look more like a jungle than a glamorous decoration.
Stunning photos of the 252-room hotel show an empty outdoor pool in the garden behind. Trees and plants have taken over the space, and spots of moss and dirt have filled the bathtub that was once filled with guests who paid money to stay there.
