ScotRail Intensifies Ticket Fraud Measures to Benefit Travelers

To address this, 69 new ticket examiners have been introduced, with additional checks at key stations and routes, ensuring compliance, reducing financial losses, and holding fare dodgers accountable.

Specialized Revenue Protection Officers are now conducting patrols, using data analysis and audits to identify repeat offenders and suspicious patterns. Offenders caught avoiding fares face fines and investigations, with potential recovery of unpaid fares or further action if necessary. These intensified measures have already recouped significant sums, underscoring ScotRail’s commitment to ensuring fairness and protecting public funds that are vital for investing in Scotland’s railway infrastructure.
