Singapore Airlines to Launch Daily Flights Between Singapore and Beijing Daxing
Singapore Airlines (SIA) is set to launch daily flights between Singapore and Beijing’s Daxing International Airport starting 11 November 2024, pending regulatory approvals. This new route will provide travelers with convenient access to Beijing and the surrounding regions, including Hebei and Tianjin, known for their world cultural heritage sites and extensive transport networks.
The new service to Beijing Daxing marks a significant expansion in SIA's operations in China. Additionally, SIA will increase its flight frequencies to Beijing Capital International Airport to 21 weekly services from 5 August 2024, up from the current 18 weekly services.
This expansion means SIA will operate a total of 28 weekly services to Beijing, demonstrating its strong commitment to the Chinese market. The SIA Group, which includes the airline's low-cost subsidiary Scoot, will now serve 24 destinations across mainland China.
The inaugural flight SQ810 to Beijing Daxing is scheduled to depart from Singapore at 0030hrs local time on 11 November 2024 and arrive at 0635hrs local time. The return flight SQ811 will depart Beijing Daxing at 0925hrs local time and arrive in Singapore at 1550hrs local time. SIA will use its Boeing 787-10 aircraft for this service, which features 36 Business Class seats and 301 Economy Class seats.
Mr. Dai Haoyu, Acting Senior Vice President Marketing Planning at Singapore Airlines, emphasized the importance of China as a market for the airline group. He noted that the new service to Beijing Daxing will cater to both tourist and business travelers, offering them additional options and connections within the extensive SIA network.
Mr. Kong Yue, Vice President of Beijing Daxing International Airport, highlighted that Singapore Airlines is the first foreign airline to operate from the airport to Singapore. He expressed optimism that this new service will boost travel demand between the two countries, bringing new energy and opportunities for collaboration.
Tickets for the new Beijing Daxing services will be available for purchase through various distribution channels starting 24 June 2024.
