Kicking off this summer, the Faroe Islands are buzzing with anticipation as the festival season promises a vibrant lineup of music events, drawing both local and international artists. Following the early excitement of Okkara Land in Tórshavn and the Country and Blues Festival in Sørvágur, four more thrilling festivals await music enthusiasts this season.

G! Festival: A Melodic Celebration

The next highlight on the festival calendar is the G! Festival, set to take place from July 18th to 20th in Syðrugøta. This highly anticipated event will feature an impressive roster of artists, including Faroese talents like Eivør, Teitur, and Hamferð, alongside international acts such as Iceland’s Of Monsters and Men. Attendees can look forward to performances from a diverse lineup: Highasakite, Of Monsters and Men, Eivør, Teitur, Swangah, Jamie Grey, The Longest Johns, Specktors, Omar Souleyman, and many more.

Tórsfest in Tórshavn

On July 26th, Tórshavn will host the Tórsfest music festival. The event is scheduled just before Ólavsøka, the national holiday of the Faroe Islands. This year’s lineup includes the Danish DJ Hedegaard, Faroese folk-rock band Hamradun, and British singer-songwriter Nik Kershaw. Other performers include Rasmus Seebach and local favorites like Frændur and Páll Finnur Páll.

Summar Festival in Klaksvík

The Summar Festival will take place from August 8th to 10th in Klaksvík, featuring British pop artist Olly Murs and rock legends Uriah Heep. Faroese/Canadian singer Lena Anderssen will also perform, alongside a lineup that includes Faustix, Dania O. Tausen, and local bands such as Hamradun and Dynamit.

Norð Festivalur in Viðareiði

Concluding the summer festival season, the Norð Festivalur will be held on August 31st in Viðareiði. This relatively new festival will feature performances by the Faroese metal band Týr and the Danish pop band TV-2. Other acts include local talents like Maria R. á Heygum and Jens Marni Hansen, making it a must-see event for music enthusiasts.

With these exciting events on the horizon, music lovers have plenty to look forward to this summer in the Faroe Islands. Each festival offers a unique blend of local and international talent, ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees.
