Tallest Hotel in the World Surpasses Eiffel Tower, Soon to be Outdone
Dubai, renowned for its luxury hotels, boasts the tallest hotel globally, the Gevora Hotel. Standing at nearly 1,170 feet, it surpasses the Eiffel Tower by 85 feet, earning it the Guinness World Record for the tallest hotel.
The Gevora Hotel, a four-star establishment, opened its doors in February 2018 after twelve years of construction, which began in 2005. Initially known as the Ahmed Abdul Rahim Al Attar Tower, it was developed by Al Attar Properties. The hotel’s impressive height not only offers stunning views but also provides a remarkable experience for guests seeking luxury and comfort.
This towering hotel surpassed the previous record-holder, the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, by approximately three feet. Another nearby contender, the Rose Rayhaan by Rotana, stands at 1,093 feet, making it the third tallest hotel. Dubai’s skyline is undoubtedly a testament to architectural marvels and the city’s commitment to pushing boundaries in the hospitality industry.
The Gevora Hotel features 529 rooms, a full-size swimming pool, and a rooftop panoramic restaurant with breathtaking views. The Highest View Restaurant on the rooftop requires a minimum spend of 100 AED per person, offering an exclusive dining experience with spectacular vistas. For more casual dining, the Gevora Kitchen offers all-day dining with local delicacies from breakfast to dinner. Additionally, the pool deck includes a Pool Bar with stunning city vistas, providing a perfect spot for relaxation and leisure.
Despite its current status, the Gevora Hotel will soon be surpassed. The upcoming Hotel Ciel in Dubai Marina, set to open later this year, will reach 1,197 feet. Constructed by Immo Prestige Limited at an estimated cost of £388 million, Hotel Ciel will span 104 stories and feature over 1,000 rooms across 82 floors. The anticipated opening is in the first quarter of 2024. This new addition to Dubai’s skyline will further solidify the city’s reputation as a hub for luxury and innovative architecture.
The race for the tallest hotel continues, reflecting Dubai’s relentless ambition and its dedication to remaining at the forefront of global hospitality. Both the Gevora Hotel and the forthcoming Hotel Ciel exemplify the city’s drive to provide unparalleled experiences for visitors from around the world.
