The flight attendant mentioned a common mistake among elderly passengers and explained how to avoid it
The flight attendant shared some important tips for elderly travelers to help them avoid serious misunderstandings and stress during flights. It often happens that they make the same mistake due to inattention and forgetfulness.
Crew member Miguel Muñoz shared his observations and advice for older travelers with Express.co.uk.
One of the main mistakes that elderly travelers often make is forgetting items in their checked baggage. When there is not enough space for carry-on luggage in the cabin, passengers' bags have to be placed in the luggage compartment. And at this stage, problems often arise.
Miguel emphasized that many times he has seen elderly tourists forget what exactly is in their bags. In particular, important documents, passports, medications, or lithium batteries.
When they are asked if these items are in their luggage, they deny it, and then it turns out that they are indeed there.
"It happens all the time, they think they have it in their carry-on, but it's in their checked baggage. People always forget something," the flight attendant explained.
Miguel advises elderly tourists to take out important items and keep them with them in the cabin, especially during long flights, so that they don't accidentally realize that their documents are left elsewhere after landing.
