Cheap places don't mean low-quality places. Indeed, in these wonderful cities, you can enjoy beautiful scenery, rich historical sites, and delicious local food.
According to a recent study by Travelchinaguide, Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province in western China, is the most budget-friendly destination in the country. At the same time, many restaurants and food stalls are offering cheap but tasty Sichuan dishes, Express writes.
As a rule, vacationers can visit a street restaurant for about 30 yuan (3 pounds). Some of the best free attractions include Chunxi Road, Jinli Street, and Wide and Narrow Alley.
The Chengdu Great Panda Breeding Research Base, Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Qingcheng Mountain, and Wuhou Temple charge a small entrance fee, but they are well worth a visit.
Chengdu is famous for two things: pandas and spicy Sichuan cuisine. After visiting the Chengdu Great Panda Breeding Research Base, you can enjoy a Sichuan hot pot at one of the city's bustling restaurants.
Other attractions include Qingcheng Mountain, the birthplace of Taoism, and the stunning Wenshu Yuan Monastery.
On Tripadvisor, a traveler who recently visited Qingcheng Mountain described it as an absolutely "beautiful" place. Another said that Wenshu Yuan Monastery is "wonderful" and worth seeing.
