The top 5 destinations that attract tourists from the UAE are named

The top five most popular vacation destinations for UAE residents in descending order are Thailand, Maldives, Turkey, the United States and Azerbaijan.

Such data was released by the travel company Dnata Travel. The best choice is Thailand, which represented 15% of all Dnata Travel bookings during the weekend dedicated to the UAE National Day. Such popular destinations as Bangkok, Phuket and Krabi are leading the list of preferred places, Travel And Tour World writes.

Azerbaijan is becoming a new favourite among local tourists, showing a staggering 50% increase in bookings compared to the same period in 2022. The capital city of Baku is gaining popularity among UAE travellers looking for a city break closer to home. In addition, the number of bookings to the UK, Switzerland, France, India, and the Seychelles is growing.

For extended weekends, 80% of bookings were for international travel, and the remaining 20% were for stays in the UAE. Dubai ranks first among locals, followed by Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah.

"Travellers are expanding their horizons by exploring lesser-known destinations and discovering new hotspots. In addition to perennial favourites such as Thailand and the Maldives, we have seen a significant increase in travel to Azerbaijan," said Meerah Ketait, Head of Retail and Leisure UAE at Dnata Travel.

Thailand's appeal continues to be driven by an increase in the number of flights, value for money, first-class accommodation and diverse experiences.
