Top 3 new pizzerias in Portland to look forward to opening
If you think that Portland already has enough pizzerias, as this city is famous for them, you are mistaken.
OregonLive.com has named three more establishments that are expected to open in the near future. Their appearance should further expand the city's already stellar reputation for pizza.
Fusion Curry Pizza
A new Indian fusion pizzeria in the style of Beaverton's Bombay Pizza & Curry or Hillsboro's Curry & Crust looks set to take over the former Hot Lips location in the Hollywood area, according to preliminary information.
Grana
This new pizzeria in Portland will specialize in traditional Neapolitan pizza, with folded portafoglio (wallet-style) pizza sold through a takeout window during the day and simpler pies served in the dining room in the evening. Locals Maya Setton and chef Chris Flanagan first learned about this style when they saw travel host Rick Steves visit Naples. It was he who inspired them to open a similar restaurant in Portland.
Montelupo Market
The popular Northeast Portland Italian restaurant is planning to expand to Sellwood-Moreland with a new Italian market serving focaccia sandwiches and Roman-style pizza seven days a week. The new market will feature imported Italian goods, beer, wine, takeaway cocktails, olive oil, canned fish and pasta to suit all tastes, as well as focaccia-based pizza.
