Spain is once again facing severe weather conditions, impacting eastern and southern regions and prompting authorities to organize evacuations and temporarily close schools. The hardest-hit areas include Catalonia and Andalusia, where heavy rain is expected in the coming days. This intense rainfall raises concerns about new flooding in areas where the ground is already oversaturated.

In Tarragona and Málaga, strict restrictions have been introduced, with authorities urging residents and visitors to stay indoors. Due to the declared red alert, tourists are advised to avoid traveling around the cities as sudden floods and blocked roads are possible. Many tourist attractions may also be closed or temporarily inaccessible due to the threat of severe weather.

Local residents have expressed frustration over delays and inadequate response to previous natural disasters that caused significant damage just two weeks ago. In Valencia, protests took place, where residents demanded accountability from regional leaders for poor safety measures. Protesters claim that slow response worsened the impact of recent floods.

For tourists looking to explore Spain without the risk of encountering severe weather, Barcelona remains an excellent alternative. In Barcelona, where the situation remains stable, visitors can enjoy architectural landmarks such as the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell or take a stroll along La Rambla. This safe destination offers numerous attractions, even if weather conditions turn slightly cooler.

Another safe option is the Canary Islands, particularly Tenerife. The island boasts a pleasant climate and stable weather, making it a popular destination year-round. Visitors to Tenerife can explore Teide National Park, home to Spain’s highest volcano, or relax on its unique volcanic beaches.

For travelers planning to visit Spain, these alternative locations provide a way to avoid unfavorable weather. However, it’s essential to check updated weather forecasts and be prepared for potential itinerary changes. Tourists are advised to follow local authority recommendations to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip.
