Tryst Hotels, a network of hotels for LGBTQ+ travelers, has been launched
Technology entrepreneur Tristan Shukraft has launched Tryst Hotels, a luxury brand focused on the LGBTQ+ community. The brand's flagship hotel, The Tryst Puerto Vallarta, will be located in the city's Romantic Zone and is expected to open this spring.
The 55-room hotel will feature a rooftop pool, a bar, and a Mexican restaurant, as reported by the HotelBusiness website.
"Tryst hotels are not just luxurious places to stay; they are a celebration of gay culture where every guest can expect a warm embrace," said Shukraft. "Our mission is to create a space where luxury and identity thrive without compromise."
He added, "Even at resorts that claim to be inclusive, my friends and I still receive judgmental looks from other guests because of our poolside attire. These are true five-star hotels that offer all the luxurious amenities, discretion, and services that gay men seek in the world's best LGBTQ+ destinations."
Last year, Shukraft acquired a beachfront hotel, which he rebranded as The Tryst Hotel and Beach Club. Later this year, a multimillion-dollar renovation will transform the property into a five-star beach resort. Upon completion of the renovation in 2025, the hotel will feature 33 rooms with expanded balconies and terrace suites, a beach club with an infinity pool, a restaurant and beachfront bar, and an additional rooftop bar overlooking Condado. According to the brand, this hotel was formerly known as the Atlantic Beach Hotel and played a significant role in the establishment of the gay beach in San Juan, which is located directly across from The Tryst Hotel and Beach Club in San Juan.
A third luxury resort is expected to be announced later this year.
The Tryst hotels are part of Shukraft's vision for a global portfolio of gay-owned businesses. He founded MISTR, a company that offers a free online PrEP program (pre-exposure prophylaxis used to prevent HIV infection) across the United States, serving over 275,000 patients. This fall, Tristan will reopen the newly renovated Circo, a well-known LGBTQ+ nightclub in San Juan, adjacent to The Tryst San Juan. He has also entered into an agreement to acquire The Abbey Food & Bar and The Chapel, gay nightlife venues in West Hollywood.
