Turkish Airlines Launches New Platform to Enhance Passenger Experience
Starting October 1, 2024, Turkish Airlines will launch a new distribution platform aimed at significantly enhancing the passenger experience. This platform will offer travelers exclusive access to a variety of products and benefits, including unique ticket pricing, promotional fares available only through the new system, and enriched ancillary services such as excess baggage options and personalized seat selections.
Ahmet Olmustur, Chief Commercial Officer of Turkish Airlines, highlighted that the new platform is designed to deliver advanced technology in a user-friendly format, aiming to provide passengers with a superior and more personalized travel experience.
The new system will also benefit travel agents, who can choose from three options: direct access via IATA-certified NDC APIs, integration through industry-leading technology partners, and a web-based booking portal for simple booking and ticketing processes.
Travel agencies that have not yet adopted the new platform can continue using Turkish Airlines' legacy content through Global Distribution Systems (GDS). However, bookings made via GDS will incur a distribution cost starting October 1, 2024, with the enhanced content and services being exclusive to users of the new platform.
This initiative marks a significant step in Turkish Airlines' mission to improve passenger services and streamline the booking process for both travelers and travel agents.
