Turkish Airlines to Provide Free, Unlimited Wi-Fi by 2025
Turkish Airlines is set to revolutionize its in-flight service by offering all passengers free, unlimited, and high-speed Wi-Fi on all flights. This bold initiative is part of the airline's strategic plan to integrate advanced technologies and create an unparalleled experience for travelers.
Starting from the end of 2025, Turkish Airlines will begin equipping its current aircraft with the latest in-flight connectivity (IFC) technologies, while new aircraft will be fitted with the most modern IFC systems. This comprehensive upgrade will provide every passenger with fast and seamless internet access, allowing them to enjoy digital services comfortably during their flight.
In-flight connectivity (IFC) technologies enable Turkish Airlines passengers to stay online while flying. These systems provide internet access, allowing passengers to browse websites, send messages, watch videos, and use other online services as if they were on the ground. Thanks to satellite and ground connections, passengers will enjoy stable and fast internet on board.
To achieve this goal, Turkish Airlines is collaborating with both local and international suppliers to identify the best IFC solutions. Notably, the airline has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TCI Aircraft Interiors, a certified aviation products provider, and Turksat, a leader in satellite technologies. This partnership aims to leverage national capabilities and support Turkish companies in establishing a significant presence in the IFC sector.
In practice, the implementation of advanced in-flight connectivity (IFC) technologies will significantly enhance the experience for Turkish Airlines passengers. Travelers will be able to use the internet throughout their flight, which is especially important for long-haul routes. This will allow them to stay connected with family and friends, work efficiently, participate in video conferences, and enjoy streaming videos and music. Moreover, the availability of stable and fast internet will make flights more comfortable and productive, turning flight time into a fully integrated part of their digital lives.
