Turkish government obliges restaurant owners to indicate prices on the front door
As a rule, prices for dishes in food establishments are indicated on menus or on special screens above the cash register. But in Turkey, it is now mandatory to draw up a price list and hang it on the front door and tables.
The new rule comes into force on January 1, 2024. This was reported by Resmi Gazete.
Turkey is the most popular region with a large flow of travellers from all over the world. The colourful city of Istanbul is especially crowded. But recently, complaints from customers who have been deceived with their bills have become more frequent. The receipt indicated a higher amount for meals than what was actually due.
The price lists are to be prepared and posted soon, on January 1, 2024. Thus, customers will be able to immediately familiarize themselves with the prices and calculate the cost of all the dishes they plan to eat.
