WestJet Announces Major Service Enhancements and Route Expansions
WestJet has announced significant service updates and route expansions, effective from August 7, 2024, aimed at enhancing connectivity and travel options for passengers across North America.
Key updates include a new direct service between Calgary and Miami starting December 2024, operating three times a week. Additionally, the airline is increasing the frequency of flights on several key routes, including Calgary to Toronto and Vancouver to Los Angeles, to better serve passenger demand.
John Weatherill, WestJet’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the updates, highlighting the airline’s commitment to providing convenient and reliable service.
WestJet is also modernizing its fleet and upgrading in-flight services with enhanced cabin interiors, improved entertainment options, and a refreshed menu. The WestJet Rewards program will introduce new benefits and tier levels to offer greater value to frequent flyers.
In line with its sustainability goals, WestJet is increasing its use of sustainable aviation fuels and investing in more fuel-efficient aircraft, aiming to reduce its carbon footprint.
