WestJet Expands Direct Flight Options to Frankfurt
WestJet passengers now have direct access to Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) from five major Canadian airports, starting today. This development comes from a new codeshare agreement with Condor Airlines, enhancing the decade-long partnership between the two airlines.
Under the agreement, WestJet will offer tickets on Condor-operated flights from Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, and Halifax to Frankfurt. This allows passengers the convenience of a single ticket purchase and through-checked baggage, while earning WestJet Dollars. Condor passengers can also take advantage of WestJet’s domestic network and, later this summer, connect to the United States via WestJet from these Canadian cities.
John Weatherill, WestJet Group Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer, noted that the expanded partnership addresses the growing demand for transatlantic travel, providing numerous tourism opportunities for travelers in Europe and Canada. Jens Boyd, Commercial Director at Condor, emphasized the improved connectivity and travel experience this agreement brings.
This new arrangement enables travelers to manage their entire journey on one ticket, ensuring seamless connections at Frankfurt with baggage transfers. The codeshare agreement aims to offer a more integrated travel experience for passengers across the Atlantic.
