WestJet Expands Routes to Frankfurt via Condor Airlines Codeshare
Starting today, WestJet passengers can now fly directly to Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) from five Canadian cities through an enhanced partnership with Condor Airlines. This new codeshare agreement marks a significant upgrade from their previous interline deal, providing seamless travel between Canada and Germany.
Under the expanded partnership, WestJet will offer tickets on Condor Airlines flights from Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, and Halifax to Frankfurt. Passengers will benefit from through-checked baggage and the ability to earn WestJet Dollars on their journeys. In return, Condor passengers visiting Canada can utilize WestJet’s extensive domestic network with similar perks. Later this summer, WestJet will also facilitate connectivity to the United States for Condor passengers via the same Canadian airports.
John Weatherill, WestJet Group Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the expanded travel opportunities it brings for passengers on both sides of the Atlantic. Jens Boyd, Commercial Director at Condor, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the improved convenience for passengers, including seamless luggage transfers and easy access to connecting flights.
This collaboration aims to meet the increasing demand for transatlantic travel, making it more accessible and convenient. With the ability to book through WestJet.com, passengers can enjoy a simplified travel experience, further strengthening the bond between the two airlines and enhancing tourism between Canada and Europe.
