Wild things on board: Flight attendant shares his experience of 25 years of work
A former airline employee shared shocking memories of his work online. The incredible facts about his 25 years of experience as a flight attendant were shared in the Ask Me Anything section by a Reddit user under the nickname Wnflyguy.
According to him, he worked for a large American airline serving domestic morning flights, which required him to be at the airport at 5 or 6 a.m. and stay there until 5 p.m. Yahoo News reports.
According to him, despite the privileges provided to the company's employees, including travel benefits, medical care and the opportunity to travel, he was not at home for 3 days in a row. He also noted that his salary did not correspond to his workload: $24 per flight hour for a beginner and about $75 per flight hour after 15 years of flying.
In addition, the former airline employee named some of the things that regularly disrupted discipline on the plane, including smoking in the lavatory and drunken passengers. In addition, he said, passengers can fight, sing, and even defecate right on their seats.
At the same time, the former flight attendant said that he saw "used condoms, dirty underwear (male and female), used tampons, to name a few." However, according to him, it is not only passengers who violate the rules during the flight.
When asked by the community if he had ever had sex with a passenger or colleague during or after work, he replied, "With a passenger, yes. Other crew... There were proposals, but no." He added, "Employees don't meet as often as people say. What happens more often is married straight pilots dating gay flight attendants."
The flight attendant also named his best and worst encounters with celebrities during the flight. He said, "The best was meeting Gene Simmons from KISS. The worst was Julia Roberts (and that was three weeks ago). She's not nice at all."
