In 2024, travelling will not only be a way to escape from everyday life but will literally become a way of life.

To find out how the travel industry will be transformed next year, Booking.com conducted a study among more than 27,000 travellers in 33 countries. The results, combined with information from the digital travel platform, reveal seven travel trends for 2024, Indian Express writes.

(Alter) Ego Enthusiasts. In 2024, travel enthusiasts will embark on a unique journey of self-discovery as the vast majority of travellers enjoy the anonymity of travel, using it as an opportunity to reinvent themselves. These alter ego enthusiasts enjoy being the stars of their adventures, taking on different personas, and shedding inhibitions.

Reboot Retreaters. In a world characterized by global instability, the so-called "Reboot Retreaters" will seek out travel dedicated to self-improvement in 2024. For example, sleep tourism is becoming a trend that serves 68% of retreats looking for a relaxing vacation.

A La Carte Affluencers. Travellers will massively redefine luxury as "A La Carte Affluencers" using money-saving strategies in 2024. Travellers are eager to explore budget alternatives that mimic luxury. Most will choose destinations where the cost of living is more economical.

Mindful aesthetics are changing travel: travellers are attracted to eco-friendly travel apps, and some are even looking for unique experiences in remote areas.
