A well-known blogger has a scandal with Qatar Airways due to a negative review: he will no longer be able to fly with the airline
Blogger Josh Cahill, who runs a popular 657,000 subscribers YouTube channel, complained about Qatar Airways. He released a video criticizing the staff, cleanliness, and service, which allegedly resulted in a passenger being denied further cooperation.
The influencer wrote about this in his blog and Business Insider. The airline did not respond to the publication's inquiries.
The story began with Cahill's devastating video about Qatar Airways having "outdated planes, dirty cabins, unfriendly and demotivated crew, and limited food choices."
The video has received over 600 thousand views and attracted the attention of the carrier. The blogger said that company representatives contacted him and offered him a free flight in exchange for removing the video or negative comments.
When Josh Cahill refused the offer, he allegedly received a letter canceling his next booking and warning him that he would no longer be able to fly with Qatar Airways.
"In 10 years of working in the airline industry, I have never been banned from any airline, and none of them have ever offered me a free flight in exchange for removing a negative review. This was really the first time," the blogger said.
He called the incident a wake-up call about the censorship of service reviews and said he was surprised by the carrier's reaction.
Cahill expressed hope that Qatar Airways could change its attitude, given that the airline recently had a new CEO, Badr Mohammed Al-Mir, who seemed to want to change the approach to communicating with customers.
