Aer Lingus, the official airline of the Irish Rugby Team, recently surprised Polly Murphy, a longtime rugby volunteer, with a trip to Twickenham to watch the Irish Women's team compete in the Guinness Six Nations tournament. The gesture was part of Aer Lingus's ongoing campaign to support women's rugby and recognize those who contribute to the sport's growth.

Polly Murphy, a rugby coach at Rockwell College, has mentored many players, including Aer Lingus ambassador Dorothy Wall and Munster players Kate Flannery and Beth Buttimer. She was honored at the IRFU Spirit of Rugby Volunteer awards for her significant contributions to promoting rugby among students.

To thank Polly for her dedication, Aer Lingus invited her to Dublin Airport under the pretense of filming a promotional video for the Women's Six Nations. Instead, they surprised her with a trip to Twickenham to watch the Ireland-England match, where her husband had secretly packed her bag and passport for the journey.

Polly was thrilled by the surprise, saying, "I'm shocked and delighted to have been chosen for this wonderful surprise. Thanks to Aer Lingus for giving me the opportunity to bring Home Advantage to Twickenham this weekend. I can’t wait to cheer on the team in person."

The heartwarming gesture by Aer Lingus underscores its commitment to supporting the Irish Rugby Team and fostering a sense of community in the sport.
