Air Canada Celebrates 40 Years of Aeroplan with Massive Giveaway

Air Canada is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its Aeroplan loyalty program with a series of exciting giveaways. Forty lucky frequent flyers will each receive 1 million points, and the airline is offering ten days of exclusive deals and prizes for its 8 million+ Aeroplan members.

How to Enter

The promotion is open to all members of Air Canada's Aeroplan frequent flyer program. To enter, members must register on the special landing page created for the celebration. Registrations must be completed by Wednesday, July 17th, to be eligible for the grand prize.

One million Aeroplan points, estimated to be worth CA$30,000 ($22,000), can be redeemed for award flights with 45+ airline partners to over 1,300 global destinations. Eligible Aeroplan Elite Status Members in good standing who enter will automatically receive an additional entry. Scott O'Leary, Vice President of Loyalty and Product at Air Canada, emphasized the significance of this milestone:

To celebrate this achievement, we're excited to team up with our premier travel and everyday partners who help our members tap into their full earning and redemption potential across a wide range of flights, hotel stays, and everyday purchases. Participants can also enter the contest by mailing a fifty-word essay about their experiences with the Aeroplan program, along with their Aeroplan number, to the address listed on the contest webpage.

What Else Can You Win?

In addition to the 40 grand prize winners, Aeroplan members can take advantage of various earning opportunities and prizes until July 17th:

  • 20% back in points when redeeming 20,000 points or more on hotel stays, car rentals, gift cards, and merchandise
  • 40% bonus points on eligible flights and vacation packages
  • 4,000 bonus points on sun or weekend flight passes
  • 40 bonus points for every eligible Uber ride and Uber Eats transaction
  • 40 points for every 30L of gas at participating gas stations or $10 spent at participating convenience stores
  • 10X points on eligible Aeroplan eStore purchases from retailers like Dyson, Gap, Lululemon, Sephora, and Wayfair

Additional perks are available for Aeroplan credit cardholders, including a bonus of 400 Status Qualifying Miles for booking eligible round trips or two one-way trips during the promotion, repeatable up to ten flights for a total of 4,000 SQMs.
