Air New Zealand has unveiled updated booking options for short-haul flights, offering travelers between New Zealand, Tasmania, and the Pacific Islands more choice and flexibility. These changes will take effect in June 2024 and aim to enhance the customer experience through simplified fare structures and additional services.

The updated options include changes to the "Seats to Suit" program, providing passengers with more fare options and expanded services. Air New Zealand General Manager for Short Haul, Jeremy O'Brien, noted that the airline's goal is to ensure every customer has an exceptional experience during the flight while providing flexibility and choice to suit their needs.

Key changes include the introduction of new fare types such as worksflexi, premiumflexi, and businessflexi. These fares offer passengers the ability to book fully flexible and refundable tickets. Additionally, all passengers will now have access to a full range of inflight entertainment, as well as complimentary snacks or meals and beverages like tea, coffee, water, and juice.

The "seat+bag" product will be discontinued, allowing passengers who purchase a "seat" fare to add checked baggage for an additional $30. This change enables travelers to customize their flight experience according to their needs without unnecessary add-ons.

The new "Seats to Suit" options were developed based on customer feedback, reflecting a desire for more affordable and flexible fares and a simplified booking process. These changes demonstrate Air New Zealand's commitment to providing a higher-quality travel experience tailored to the demands of modern travelers.

The updated "Seats to Suit" options will be available for new bookings on flights between New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific Islands from June 11, 2024. These changes indicate Air New Zealand's aim to improve the quality of service and adapt to passengers' needs in a competitive airline industry.
