Travelers can now purchase nonstop British Airways flights between London and several U.S. cities, including Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and San Diego, directly through alaskaair.com. This new offering is part of Alaska Airlines' expanded partnership with British Airways, a founding member of the oneworld alliance.

The collaboration allows Alaska Airlines’ guests to enjoy a seamless booking experience for flights between London Heathrow and key gateway airports in the U.S., such as Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego, along with Chicago and New York JFK. These routes are among the most in-demand, particularly from the Pacific Northwest.

According to Andrew Harrison, chief commercial officer for Alaska Airlines, the inclusion of British Airways flights is a response to the high demand for travel to London. British Airways, known for its extensive service to London, offers multiple daily flights from major West Coast cities, which can now be conveniently booked on alaskaair.com. The new booking feature will be available for flights starting June 18.

This partnership marks a significant development in the airline industry, reflecting the growing trend of airlines collaborating to provide more comprehensive travel options. For travelers, this means easier access to international destinations with simplified booking processes. It also highlights the importance of London as a major travel hub, especially for passengers from the Pacific Northwest and other key U.S. cities.

The ability to book British Airways flights directly through alaskaair.com is expected to enhance the travel experience for many, offering more choices and greater flexibility. Mileage Plan members will earn miles for every mile flown on British Airways flights purchased through Alaska Airlines' website, further incentivizing frequent flyers.

Neil Chernoff, Chief Planning and Strategy Officer for British Airways, expressed enthusiasm for the extended partnership, highlighting the improved travel experience for customers and the convenient connections between London Heathrow and Alaska Airlines’ U.S. gateways.

This enhanced partnership underscores Alaska Airlines’ commitment to providing their guests with more travel options and a streamlined booking process, strengthening the airline's position in the competitive transatlantic travel market. By joining forces, both airlines aim to attract more travelers and offer a superior service experience.
