Alaska Airlines has announced a new rewards program for its Visa Signature® credit cardholders, offering a quicker path to elite status and a variety of benefits to encourage travel in 2024. This initiative aims to attract more customers and retain loyal travelers by providing additional perks and incentives.

The updated program allows cardholders to earn 4,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs) for every $10,000 spent on purchases, with a maximum of 20,000 EQMs in 2024. Elite status grants priority boarding, complimentary upgrades to First Class or Premium Class when available, waived fees for checked baggage, and bonus miles on flights.

The new rewards structure also includes Alaska's Famous Companion Fare™, allowing cardholders to bring a companion on a round-trip domestic flight for $99 (plus taxes and fees). This benefit aims to reduce travel costs for couples and families, potentially making travel more affordable.

Additionally, the program offers cardholders a free first checked bag for themselves and up to six guests on Alaska Airlines flights, as well as 20% back on inflight purchases. These benefits reflect Alaska Airlines' efforts to provide value to its customers and stand out in a competitive airline industry.

The introduction of this program comes as airlines seek to attract more travelers and offer enhanced experiences amidst changing travel trends. Alaska Airlines hopes that these new benefits will encourage more people to fly with them in 2024, supporting the airline's growth and customer retention efforts.
