American Airlines flight to Spain made an emergency landing due to a crack in the windshield
An American Airlines flight from New York to Madrid had to make an emergency landing in Boston. The flight was reportedly diverted due to a crack in the windshield.
The flight departed from JFK Airport at 7:30 PM on March 22 and was redirected to Boston after two and a half hours of flight time. According to USA Today, the plane landed early "due to a maintenance issue."
An American Airlines spokesperson stated that the aircraft landed safely at Logan International Airport in Boston, and all passengers were accommodated in a hotel.
According to CBS News, citing the Massachusetts State Police, the cause of the diversion was a crack that unexpectedly appeared during the flight.
