American Airlines postponed the resumption of flights to Tel Aviv again: when to expect the first flights
Since the outbreak of the violent conflict between Israel and Hamas in October 2023, the skies over Tel Aviv have been empty, with many airlines, including American Airlines, canceling flights to Ben Gurion International Airport. Passengers are eagerly awaiting the resumption of flights, but this date has been pushed back again.
Initially, American Airlines planned to resume flights from New York to Tel Aviv on December 4, 2023, but the escalation of the conflict and low demand for air travel forced the airline to revise its plans and postpone the launch of flights to March 21, 2024. This is reported by Simple Flying.
However, the planes did not fly to Tel Aviv in the spring. New Cirium data shows that flights in March and May have been canceled.
American Airlines currently plans to resume flights to Tel Aviv on October 26, 2024.
Flights AA146 from New York to Tel Aviv will be daily, departing at 23:15 from JFK Airport and arriving in Tel Aviv at 16:00 the next day.
Although the announced date is still more than eight months away, some travelers may already be planning their late fall travel.
If demand increases, the intensity of the fighting decreases, and the company's problem with a shortage of wide-body aircraft is resolved, passengers can look forward to a long-awaited trip.
