AirAsia X, a prominent low-cost airline from Malaysia, specializes in long-haul flights across Asia, Australia, and beyond. Operating a fleet of 18 Airbus A330-300 aircraft, AirAsia X focuses on medium-haul routes from Kuala Lumpur to destinations like Melbourne, Delhi, Almaty, Tokyo, Bangkok, Sydney, Shanghai, and Seoul. Its affiliate, Thai AirAsia X, operates an additional eight A330-300s.

Covering 4088 miles in approximately 8 hours and 50 minutes, this route sees 25 operations in August, offering 7,965 seats and generating 32,560,920 ASMs. AirAsia X and Malaysia Airlines are the only airlines providing non-stop flights on this busy route.

Kuala Lumpur to Jeddah

The longest route for AirAsia X is from Kuala Lumpur to Jeddah International Airport (JED), stretching 4393 miles. The Airbus A330 completes this journey in around 8 hours and 50 minutes. With 26 operations in August, the route offers 9,802 seats and results in 43,060,186 ASMs. Direct flights are provided by Malaysia Airlines, Saudia, AirAsia X, and Batik Air, with Malaysia Airlines also using A330s and Saudia deploying Boeing 787s.

Kuala Lumpur to Seoul

Another high-ASM route for AirAsia X’s A330s is from Kuala Lumpur to Incheon International Airport (ICN) in Seoul, covering 2858 miles in about 6 hours and 45 minutes. This route has 40 operations, providing 15,080 seats and 43,098,640 ASMs. Direct flights are offered by a few airlines, with numerous options for connecting flights available as well.

Shanghai to Kuala Lumpur

The route from Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) is notable for having the highest number of operations and ASMs. Covering 2858 miles in approximately 7 hours and 40 minutes, this route sees 49 operations, offering 18,463 seats and generating 43,424,976 ASMs. This makes it the route with the maximum operations and seats provided by AirAsia X’s Airbus A330 fleet.

These routes highlight the extensive reach and operational efficiency of AirAsia X’s Airbus A330-300 aircraft, providing substantial seat miles and catering to a wide range of destinations across the globe.
