As of December 15, automated passport control for foreign passengers has been introduced at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand. The initiative is specifically designed for foreign tourists departing from the country.

Lieutenant General Ittiphon Ittisanronnachai, Commander of the Immigration Bureau, announced the enhancement of domestic automatic departure channels for foreigners at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, as reported by ThailandTV.news. These measures aim to improve efficiency and passenger safety while significantly reducing the congestion of foreign travelers during peak hours.

Suvarnabhumi Airport, which handles more than 50,000 passengers and over 20 flights per hour, has implemented a new automatic check-in channel capable of processing a passenger's passport in just 20 seconds using face and finger recognition. The system is designed to identify individuals with arrest warrants, overstayed visas, and expired permits.

Foreign tourists possessing a biometric passport will be eligible to use this automated system. However, certain restrictions apply to those with regular or electronic passports containing errors. Additionally, children and individuals with disabilities will not be able to undergo automated control and will need to approach Suvarnabhumi immigration officers for assistance.
