Starting July 2024, Austrian Airlines will introduce nonstop flights connecting Vienna and Boston, marking a significant enhancement to their long-haul route network. The service, offering up to six flights weekly, will operate year-round using a Boeing 767-300.
Michael Trestl, Chief Commercial Officer, expressed excitement about Boston as a strategic addition, noting its renowned educational institutions like Harvard and MIT, strong business ties, and rich cultural scene. This expansion is set to strengthen Vienna as a hub, appealing to travelers from New England and beyond.
Boston, a city celebrated for its historical significance and vibrant atmosphere, will now be directly accessible from Vienna, promising a seamless journey of approximately 9 hours covering 6,500 kilometers. This new route is designed to attract both tourists and business travelers, enhancing the connection between these two dynamic cities.
Austrian Airlines' decision to include Boston in its intercontinental network reflects a broader strategy to increase its global footprint, now encompassing 19 destinations worldwide.
