Austrian Airlines Resumes Direct Flights Between Klagenfurt and Hamburg This Winter
Starting December 21, 2024, Austrian Airlines will reinstate its direct flights between Klagenfurt and Hamburg, extending this route through March 22, 2025. The airline's decision to resume this service reflects the high demand observed last year, enhancing connectivity for Carinthia's economic and tourism sectors.
The weekly flights from Klagenfurt to Hamburg will be available on Saturdays, providing a convenient option for travelers throughout the winter season. Additionally, Austrian Airlines will maintain its wet-lease cooperation with Braathens Regional Airlines, ensuring up to 13 weekly flights between Klagenfurt and Vienna.
This continued partnership means that passengers can enjoy early morning and late evening flights, making day trips from Klagenfurt within the Austrian Airlines network feasible. Michael Trestl, CCO of Austrian Airlines, emphasizes the importance of these connections, stating, "We want to continue this success this winter and further strengthen the Carinthia location. We ensure that the people of Carinthia are well connected to Europe and the world."
Klagenfurt Airport's Managing Director, Maximilian Wildt, also highlights the positive impact of this collaboration. He notes that the seasonal Hamburg connection's success underlines the airport's potential and boosts incoming tourism to Carinthia.
