Avelo Airlines has unveiled an ambitious expansion of its route network, announcing a new service to Atlanta, the return of three popular Florida destinations, and the addition of a second aircraft at Philadelphia Region’s Wilmington Airport. This strategic move aims to enhance connectivity, provide more travel options for passengers, and support the airline's growth in key markets.

New Route to Atlanta

Starting November 2024, Avelo Airlines will commence non-stop flights from Wilmington Airport (ILG) to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), the world's busiest airport. This new route marks Avelo's entry into the Atlanta market, providing passengers with a convenient and affordable option to travel between the Philadelphia region and Atlanta. The service is expected to cater to both business and leisure travelers, tapping into the high demand for flights between these two major cities.

Return of Popular Florida Destinations

In response to strong customer demand, Avelo Airlines is reinstating flights to three popular Florida destinations: Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Tampa. These routes, which will also operate from Wilmington Airport, are set to resume in time for the busy winter travel season. The reintroduction of these services offers passengers more options for sun-soaked getaways and underscores Avelo's commitment to providing accessible and affordable travel to Florida's most sought-after destinations.

Enhanced Services at Wilmington Airport

To support the expanded operations, Avelo Airlines is adding a second aircraft to its base at Wilmington Airport. This additional capacity will enable the airline to increase flight frequencies and improve schedule flexibility, offering passengers more convenient travel options. The presence of a second aircraft also enhances Avelo’s operational resilience, ensuring a reliable service even during peak travel periods.

CEO’s Statement

Avelo Airlines CEO, Andrew Levy, expressed enthusiasm about the airline's growth and the new opportunities for passengers. "We are excited to expand our network with these new and returning routes. Our commitment to providing convenient, affordable, and reliable air service is stronger than ever. The addition of Atlanta to our route map and the return of our popular Florida destinations reflect our dedication to meeting the needs of our customers."

Benefits for Travelers

The new and returning routes are expected to offer significant benefits for travelers. The Wilmington-Atlanta service provides a direct connection to a major southern hub, facilitating easier access to the Southeast United States. Meanwhile, the reinstated Florida routes cater to the high demand for travel to some of the Sunshine State's most vibrant cities, known for their attractions, beaches, and warm climate.

With competitive fares, convenient flight schedules, and a customer-centric approach, Avelo Airlines continues to build a loyal customer base. The airline's expansion is likely to boost tourism and economic activity in the regions it serves, providing more travel choices and contributing to the local economy.
