Avelo Airlines Introduces Free Wine Check-In at Sonoma County Airport
Starting May 25th, coinciding with National Wine Day, Avelo Airlines will allow passengers departing from Sonoma County Airport (STS) to check a case of wine at no additional cost. This initiative aims to enhance the travel experience for those visiting Northern California's Wine Country.
Passengers flying from STS can transport one case of wine, up to 12 bottles and weighing no more than 50 pounds, as part of their checked baggage allowance. The wine must be securely packed in a protective case or cardboard box to ensure safe transport. Customers need to present the packed case at the airport ticket counter before departure.
Sonoma County is a renowned destination, home to over 425 wineries, scenic landscapes, and a variety of outdoor activities. The new program is expected to attract more tourists to the region, known for its rich cultural and recreational offerings.
Avelo Airlines offers nonstop flights from STS to destinations including Portland, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Palm Springs. The "Wine Travels Free" program is seen as a move to promote local tourism and support the region's wine industry.
This initiative highlights Sonoma County Airport's role as a key gateway to Northern California's wine regions and other attractions. For more information on the new program, travelers can visit Avelo Airlines’ website.
